29 Jul, 2026

Eppendorf has taken the next step in expanding its global manufacturing network by signing an agreement for a new production facility in Penang, Malaysia.

The company will invest €40 million in the greenfield site at Bandar Cassia Technology Park, where production is expected to begin in 2028. The facility will manufacture selected products from Eppendorf's Centrifuges & Instruments portfolio for laboratories worldwide.

The new site is expected to employ around 130 people by the end of 2029 and will strengthen Eppendorf's manufacturing capabilities in Southeast Asia, supporting the company's long-term international growth strategy.

Dr Christine Munz, CEO of the Eppendorf Group, said: “For more than 30 years, Malaysia has been an important part of Eppendorf's history in the Asia-Pacific region. With the planned new production site in Penang, we are strategically expanding our global manufacturing network and creating a high-performance production platform in Southeast Asia that will sustainably support Eppendorf's long-term growth.”

The investment reflects Eppendorf's continued commitment to expanding production capacity while supporting growing demand from laboratory markets around the world.
