The electrode is the heart of any titration system. Until now it has been just this electrode that has formed the last gap in the traceability of results. Metrohm’s 857 Titrando with iTrodes and
iConnect close this gap thus guaranteeing complete traceability to each component involved in the analysis.
Metrohm’s iTrodes come with a built-in chip. It stores important sensor data such as article and serial numbers, calibration data, calibration history, working life as well as calibration validity
period. All sensor data is read in automatically when the iTrode is connected to the 857 Titrando. The truly revolutionary design in Metrohm’s 857 Titrando system is that the measuring amplifier is no longer built in the instrument. Rather, the analogue-to-digital conversion of the measuring signal is achieved by the 854 iConnect, which is connected directly to the electrode head. The advantage: By digitising the analogue measuring signal directly at the sensor, it is no longer susceptible to electrostatic influences, no matter how long the electrode cable is. With the 854 iConnect the sensor and the measuring amplifier are always calibrated together and the calibration data stored on the intelligent electrode. A further plus: As the measuring amplifier is not built in the instrument, the electrode and the 854 iConnect can be used together with different titrators. Thus, the calibration procedure is no longer specific to a particular instrument.
