Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched the Applied Biosystems™ MagMAX™ High Molecular Weight (HMW) DNA Kit, a solution designed to streamline the extraction of large, intact DNA fragments suitable for long-read sequencing. This kit supports both manual and automated workflows, providing consistent and efficient isolation of high-quality DNA across a range of sample types and laboratory demands.
As genomic research grows rapidly in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, clinical, and academic fields, the need for reliable and efficient HMW DNA extraction methods has become increasingly important. Traditional workflows often require different kits depending on sample type, and manual procedures can introduce variability that slows research progress. The MagMAX HMW DNA Kit addresses these challenges by delivering DNA fragments exceeding 100 kilobases in less than two hours, with only 20 to 30 minutes of hands-on time.
The kit’s automated protocols are compatible with Thermo Scientific™ KingFisher™ Duo Prime, Flex, and Apex platforms, allowing labs to scale workflows easily while maintaining high reproducibility. This flexibility helps researchers save time and accelerate long-read sequencing efforts by simplifying a process that was previously labour-intensive.
