Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched a next-generation, integrated cell line development platform designed to help biologics developers accelerate time to clinic while maintaining regulatory confidence and scalability for commercial manufacturing.
With demand rising for complex biologics and biosimilars across oncology, autoimmune and rare diseases, manufacturers face increasing pressure to shorten development timelines, improve consistency and control costs without compromising quality or compliance. Regulatory expectations for product comparability and manufacturing robustness are also becoming more stringent globally.
The Gibco™ CHOvantage™ GS Cell Line Development (CLD) Kit enables rapid generation of high-performing CHO cell lines, delivering protein titres of ≥7 g/L in fed-batch cultures. The platform supports stable pool generation in as little as four weeks and stable clone selection within 14 weeks, streamlining progression from early development through to commercial manufacturing.
The system combines a transposon-based vector platform with Efficient-Pro media and feeds to reduce variability, improve reproducibility and support scalable production. It is also designed to simplify tech transfer from development into manufacturing.
The platform includes simplified licensing terms, with research-use rights included and royalty-free clinical-stage options, offering developers greater cost predictability and commercial flexibility.
