Expanded antibody labelling kits for flow cytometry research

26 May, 2026

Bio-Rad has expanded its TrailBlazer™ StarBright Dye Label Kit portfolio, increasing access to its StarBright™ fluorescent dyes for antibody labelling in flow cytometry and western blot applications used in immunology research.

The expanded range now includes 32 TrailBlazer StarBright Dye Label Kits, providing researchers with a broader selection of fluorophores for designing high-resolution flow cytometry panels and generating consistent fluorescent western blot data. The kits are designed to enable flexible antibody conjugation using SpyTag and SpyCatcher technology, producing stable, high-performance antibody–dye combinations.

By allowing researchers to label a wider range of antibodies with StarBright dyes, the system supports improved panel design, particularly in applications where off-the-shelf antibody - fluorophore options are limited. The expanded portfolio also enhances long-term stability and reproducibility, helping reduce variability across experiments.

StarBright dyes are engineered for high brightness and narrow spectral profiles, enabling improved separation of cell populations in flow cytometry and reduced signal overlap. The dyes are compatible with standard experimental workflows and instruments, supporting sensitive detection without requiring specialised buffers. They also show strong photostability, maintaining signal intensity during imaging and analysis.

For western blot applications, StarBright Blue dyes are optimised for use with imaging systems to deliver bright fluorescent detection and reduced exposure times, supporting high-sensitivity protein analysis.

The expanded TrailBlazer range strengthens access to fluorescent labelling tools widely used in immunology and protein research workflows.
