Leading scientists gather for first Maxwell® in Focus meeting

15 Apr, 2026

Promega UK will bring together scientists, end users and application specialists at its first Maxwell® in Focus meeting, taking place on 9 June at The Wellcome Collection, 183 Euston Road, London, NW1 2BE (09:30–17:00). The event will showcase how researchers are using Maxwell systems to streamline nucleic acid extraction workflows across clinical and research applications.

Over the course of the day, attendees will hear from leading scientists and practitioners discussing real-world applications, including cell-free DNA extraction for transplantation and oncology, as well as optimisation of nucleic acid extraction for long-read sequencing technologies.

Speakers include experts from major UK institutions:

  • Vânia Costa, Senior Strategic Field Applications Scientist, Oxford Nanopore Technologies
  • Doug Clark, Senior Genetic Technologist, Addenbrooke’s GLH
  • Sarah Peacock, Consultant Clinical Scientist, Addenbrooke’s Tissue Typing
  • Noor Wana, Laboratory Research Scientist (Manifest project), Francis Crick Institute

For more than two decades, Maxwell systems and reagents have been widely used to simplify nucleic acid extraction workflows, improve reproducibility and support reliable downstream analysis.

The meeting will bring together users and developers for a day of scientific exchange, practical insight and networking.
