Pipettes
INTEGRA Biosciences is excited to announce the launch of its new SWITCH hybrid pipette, available from September 2025. The SWITCH is designed to eliminate the long-standing compromise between pipetting control and speed, allowing scientists to transition seamlessly between manual liquid handling and electronic repeat dispensing with a single ergonomic device.
Manual pipettes offer the control needed for delicate tasks – such as mixing or supernatant removal – but typically fall short in repetitive workflows like aliquoting. Electronic pipettes solve this problem with programmable repeat dispensing functions, but often involve complex set-up, shared usage and a less intuitive user experience. The SWITCH solves these challenges by combining the familiar feel of a manual pipette with the aliquoting speed and efficiency of an electronic device, all without changing how users work.
The innovative hybrid pipette features a thumb-operated plunger that stays at the same height across all volume settings – eliminating excessive thumb stretching – and lowers further in repeat dispense mode for effortless, button-like operation. This ergonomic design reduces strain while enhancing comfort, control and precision. A quick set ring allows one-handed volume adjustments, and an easy-to-read display shows the volume aspirated in real time. It uses GRIPTIPS® pipette tips for secure, strain-free tip loading and ejection, and includes USB-C charging – even while in use – to ensure all-day operation. The SWITCH is also compatible with the Flex charging stand, which can securely hold and charge up to 6 SWITCH pipettes simultaneously – keeping them upright and organized – and is available in rotary and linear formats to suit any workspace.
