The importance of reliable and safe cell cryopreservation

Rapid developments in cell, tissue, and gene therapies over the last decade have redefined what a cell therapy can be. The use of living cells as the active medicinal ingredient present great opportunities to deliver treatment that can trigger the body’s own capacity to regenerate damaged or diseased tissue. However, the development of a cell therapy using a process that includes the washing out of the cryopreservation solution is not only inconvenient but can result in loss of cells and lower cell viability.
