The well-established Techne thermal cycler range has been redesigned to provide easier programming and increased instrument flexibility. All Prime models have an enhanced thermal engine, an outstanding colour touch interface and pre-programmed protocol templates.

3Prime is the most feature-packed personal thermal cycler on the market and the only entry-level instrument to offer programming via a touch interface. Up to 1000 programs may be stored, and with rapid ramp rates and a small footprint this is the ideal instrument for both research and teaching labs.

3PrimeX and 3PrimeG are mid-sized cyclers that match all the features of the 3Prime instrument alongside expanded sample capacity and gradient cycling capability.

The Prime and PrimeG instruments are full-sized models with a versatile, fully interchangeable block system ideal for all routine PCR needs. Both 3PrimeG and PrimeG have gradient functionality as standard, while the 3PrimeX and Prime units introduce a unique facility to add gradient capability through a simple USB upgrade, without the need to change a block.

Rob Skehens, Bibby Scientific Marketing Director commented, ‘PCR is a routine task in many research, forensics and testing laboratories. What sets the new Techne Prime thermal cyclers apart is a combination of uniformly excellent user experience right across the range, and the flexibility to meet changing cycling needs cost-effectively, through features such as gradient upgradability, interchangeable blocks and network connectivity.’

The Prime range of thermal cyclers represents exceptional value for money and is the only one to offer a touchscreen with the same software and look and feel on each model. All thermal cyclers in the Prime range provide high performance and reliability, supported by a market-leading four-year warranty.
