Laboratory equipment manufacturers have released a new product that will allow scientists to "measure colour and intensity on the micron scale".
Released by Craic Technologies, the 308 FPD spectrophotometer can be used to map in high-spatial resolution - and may be attached to probes and microscopes already in use.
Current technologies allow for the mapping of colour and intensity of groups of pixels; however, this new development means individual pixels in a micro display can be examined by researchers.
"Pixels can then be compared to one another for consistency or maps of both the intensity and colour can be generated for each device," comments Laboratory Talk.
