Traditional dispensing components are based on medical syringes and modified for industrial use. In developing the Optimum™ system, Nordson EFD used state of the art Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) evaluations to engineer a complete comprehensive family of disposable components that bring fluid dispensing and packaging processes to a higher level of reliability to meet the demands of today’s cutting edge manufacturing processes.

Syringe Barrels provide even, laminar flow of watery low-viscosity fluids to thick viscous materials during filling and dispensing processes. The internal CFDenhanced geometry eliminates any opportunity for ‘dead spots’ that could trap air bubbles during filling or dispensing. Available in 3, 5, 10, 30 and 55cc capacities in clear, UV-blocking and light-blocking configurations.

Cartridges and Retainers improve yields and reduce costs in fluid packaging and dispensing processes that require a larger reservoir. A robust cartridge design eliminates the risk of splitting, while see-through cartridge retainers make it easy to monitor fluid levels. Available in 2.5, 6, 12, 20 and 32 ounce capacities.

Pistons its revolutionary design incorporates unique channels that prevent air entrapment during the filling process. Pistons are engineered to match perfectly with syringe barrels, and feature precision dual wiper edges that wipe syringe and cartridge walls clean as fluid is dispensed, eliminating waste and residue.

End Caps and Tip Caps incorporate a unique pushbutton for error-free attachment and an airtight seal. Tip caps are vented to ensure that no air is pushed into the fluid during the installation process. EFD’s OptimumTM system sets the standard in consumable fluid dispensing and packaging components and provides significant advantages over what is currently available in the marketplace.
