Thermo Fisher Scientific has released the Invitrogen Neon NxT Electroporation System, a state-of-the-art device that maximises the transfection efficiency, cell recovery, and reproducibility of challenging cell types.

Thanks to the optimally spaced Neon NxT electrodes, which create a uniform electric field, scientists can achieve desired cell modifications in a greater number of cells while losing fewer during the transfection process. The device also includes ergonomic enhancements and an improved feedback loop.

The Neon NxT system is built on the core technology of the Neon Transfection System and simplifies electroporation while reducing cell mortality and contamination risk. The new system's scalability enables researchers to move from initial research to clinical cell therapy development and GMP-compliant cell therapy manufacturing without re-optimising electroporation parameters. The device is suitable for gene and protein expression research, cell line development, gene silencing, and genome editing.
