Azenta Life Sciences is stepping up its commitment to sustainable science by increasing the use of recycled polypropylene in its FluidX sample storage consumables range. Starting in January 2025, all SBS tube rack bases will be made from up to 90% recycled polypropylene, sourced from repurposed material generated during the production of FluidX sample storage tubes. This recycled material meets the same high-quality standards as existing racks, ensuring reliable and consistent performance.
Alexis MacLeod, Global Product Manager, commented: “This transition to recycled polypropylene supports Azenta’s Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) goals, creating a more sustainable product. By reducing waste and decreasing reliance on virgin polypropylene, we continue to provide the high-quality solutions our customers expect while promoting responsible environmental practices for a more sustainable future.”
Azenta Life Sciences’ advanced manufacturing process ensures unparalleled sample audit traceability, enabling seamless tracking and data sharing across multiple users, labs, and locations. The company serves industries such as biobanking, compound management, consumer genomics, synthetic biology, and basic research, with a continued focus on exceptional customer service, support, and product quality.
