METTLER TOLEDO Launches the Fiber Probe Adapter
Jul 03 2019
Mettler-Toledo GmbH presents a new UV/VIS spectrophotometer accessory, the Fiber Probe Adapter. This is a tool connecting the spectrophotometer to fibre optic probes, bringing spectroscopic measurement to the sample.
METTLER TOLEDO announces the new Fiber Probe Adapter, an accessory which slots into UV/VIS Excellence Spectrophotometers and connects to optical fiber probes, facilitating use of the UV/VIS Excellence line with a wide range of commercially available immersion probes thanks to standardised SMA connectors. This allows the customer to choose the right probe for the desired application.
By implementing the Fiber Probe Adapter into the workflow, time-consuming sample transfer is no longer necessary, and operator safety is improved since hazardous or bulky samples can be measured within the sample vessel. The flexibility of this accessory opens up great possibilities in terms of new applications and powerful automation solutions.
This fiber optic system can be configured in many different ways to suit the workflow. As well as simple, manual measurement, the probe can be fixed into position using a stand, where maximum accuracy of results is made possible due to the lack of probe movement. A significant efficiency gain is achieved through connection to the InMotion™ auto-sampler, where a large sample throughput can be processed without manual intervention. This is METTLER TOLEDO’s most time-saving solution when a large number of samples needs to be analysed, for example, in testing and QC labs. Moreover, with connection to LabX® PC software, the workflow can be easily programmed according to specific application requirements. Samples are analysed without manual intervention, saving precious operator time and boosting lab productivity. Results are then automatically calculated and securely stored.
With this new accessory, the UV/VIS Excellence line of spectrophotometers continues to grow and adapt to customer needs, offering the opportunity for customers to expand their portfolio of applications through this new technique.
