When Teesside University equipped its lab with four Spectronic Camspec M501 machines nine years ago it proved to be a sound investment. So much so that when the University decided to purchase five more machines for larger class sizes, Spectronic’s Camspec M501 machines were the obvious choice.

Paul Douglas of Teesside University said: “we have owned and operated the M501 UV/Vis machines for around nine years. Our students have found the machines, particularly the software, easy to use. This has meant they have been assisted greatly in their analytical and enzyme kinetics work.”

The University was equally impressed with the after sales support. “We have also found Mark and his colleagues provide a great after sales service and have been very helpful with any queries we have presented them with.”

According to Mark Brereton, Managing Director of the Leeds based company, the support services offered by Spectronic Camspec have been highlighted as an asset by many customers. “They like the fact that when they phone they get straight through to a technical person who speaks their language,” Mark explained.

The 2016 range of Spectronic Camspec M501 spectrophotometers feature a USB stick data access and free supporting software. It is a high performance single beam instrument with a tactile keyboard, ¼ VGA display and a 4nm bandpass.

As Teesside University have illustrated, large numbers of M501’s are in service across the UK and beyond providing sterling service not just in academia, but in hundreds of commercial labs. The 2016 additional features should mean it keeps its market leading position on the decade ahead.
