Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc has announced new technology and software developments in the field of plasma chemistry designed to support trace elemental analysis.

Thermo Fisher’s trace elemental analysis portfolio, includes the new iCAP TQ ICP-MS, designed to support ultra-low detection limits with ease of use. The newest addition to the ICP-MS portfolio harnesses triple quadrupole technology to extend ICP-MS performance and delivers advanced interference removal capabilities to overcome interferences in challenging matrices. With the flexibility of both single and triple quadrupole modes, the system offers a multi-elemental solution while maintaining reliable and reproducible data for a range of applications, including human and environmental health, and industrial and material science.

“We’re noticing laboratories have a growing need for lower detection limit capabilities with the highest accuracy to meet new requirements in trace elemental analysis,” said Shona McSheehy Ducos, ICP-MS Product Manager, Thermo Fisher. ”We develop our solutions with this in mind. Our new triple quad technology is designed both routine and research labs for the most challenging analytical applications.”

“At Thermo Fisher, in addition to supporting our customers, we strive to continuously extend our support to the research community,” said Lothar Rottmann, R&D Director, ICP-MS, Thermo Fisher.
