New MS platform accelerates multiomics research

15 Jun, 2026

Waters Corporation has introduced a new high-resolution benchtop mass spectrometry platform designed to boost speed, sensitivity and throughput in multiomics research.

The Xevo MRT P10 Mass Spectrometer combines quadrupole time-of-flight (QToF) technology with enhanced acquisition modes, delivering up to 20-fold higher MS/MS sensitivity and twice the acquisition speed of its predecessor. The system is designed to support both targeted and untargeted analysis across proteomics, lipidomics and metabolomics workflows.

In comparative studies, the platform identified up to 40% more lipids than leading benchtop HRMS systems, strengthening its application in lipidomics and disease research. When paired with DESI XS imaging, it also enables high-throughput spatial analysis at up to cellular resolution, supporting faster biological mapping of tissue samples.

The system is aimed at accelerating biomarker discovery and large-scale multiomics studies by improving data quality, resolution and analytical speed within a single benchtop platform.

The Xevo MRT P10 Mass Spectrometer was showcased at ASMS 2026 ahead of global availability from summer 2026.
