Hamamatsu Photonics unveils new LCOS-SLM X15213-03CL

Hamamatsu Photonics, a leading optical technology company, announces the development of the X15213-03CL, a ground-breaking LCOS-SLM (Liquid Crystal On Silicon - Spatial Light Modulator) with an unparalleled power handling capability of up to 700 W. This significant achievement was made possible through the incorporation of the company's innovative thermal design technology, enhancing heat dissipation performance.

The X15213-03CL is an optical component specifically designed for laser beam machining of metal materials. It offers precise control of laser beam patterns, greatly boosting production efficiency for various applications, including metal 3D printing, laser metal welding, and cutting. In metal 3D printing, the modulator facilitates sintering metal powder with a laser to form solidified parts for aircraft, transport equipment, and other industries.

Starting from Friday 1 December 2023, the X15213-03CL will be available for purchase by both domestic and overseas manufacturers of metal 3D printers and laser beam machining equipment. The product was showcased for the first time at the Hamamatsu Photonics booth during the LASER World of PHOTONICS exhibition in Munich, Germany, held from Tuesday 27 June to Friday 30 June 2023.
