SPECTRO Analytical Instruments, one of the global leaders in advanced materials analysis instruments, has established a Centre of Excellence in Kuala Lampur for its Southeast Asian customers. The Centre is operated under the auspices of QS Instruments Sdn Bhd (QSI), which is the exclusive Southeast Asia distributor for SPECTRO.

The new facility provides instrument sales, demonstrations, training and sales support for SPECTRO’s full line of analytical instruments.  QSI will use the facility to provide hands-on demonstrations and training on SPECTRO’s latest instruments and technologies, including arc-spark, electron diffraction X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF), and inductively coupled plasma optical emission (ICP-OES) spectrometry.

The Centre opened officially on June 6, 2013 with a dedication ceremony attended by Volker Dreisbach, Vice President of Asia-Pacific for SPECTRO and its parent company AMETEK, Inc. and Andreas Eerden, Director, Sales & Marketing, Asia-Pacific for SPECTRO.

“We are very pleased with our new Southeast Asia demonstration facility. It represents a further expansion of our presence in the region and reflects the growing importance of our customer base here. We expect it to play a key role as we further expand our presence in the region,” commented Volker Dreisbach, Vice President and China Country Manager for AMETEK’s Electronic Instruments Group.

The Centre has three objectives:

•    Guidance, advising users on new standards, improved testing methods, and increased knowledge via workshops and seminars;

•    Shared Learning, providing training and certifications, assessing skill levels and improving the proficiency of technical personnel; and

•    Support, offering materials analysis investigation and advice on suitable analytical methods for particular applications or customer requirements.

The new facility is located at No. 9 Jalan Juruukur U1/19, Hicom Glenmarie Industrial Park, Seksyen U1, 40150 Shah Alam, Selangar Darul Ehsan, Malaysia, Tel: (603) 58826866, Fax: (603) 55670813.

Established in 2003, QSI is a highly reliable scientific and analytical instruments specialist with an excellent reputation in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia.  Its team of dedicated and experienced engineers and support staff continually strives to provide its customers across the region with outstanding service and support.
