Atlas Genetics Ltd a diagnostic company developing ultra-rapid point-of-care tests for a range of infectious diseases, has appointed Conor O’Brien as Sales and Marketing Director.

Mr O’Brien joins Atlas from Iris Diagnostics UK Ltd, a global provider of urinalysis instrumentation products, where as Managing Director (2009-2011), revenues grew 15% in the first year of operation and a further 12% in 2011. He has also held senior positions with Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics Ltd, where he successfully developed and managed a sales team for the virology, microbiology and molecular products; and bioMérieux UK Ltd, a provider of diagnostic solutions used to determine the source of disease and contamination. During his tenure, the UK microbiology division became the UK No.1 supplier for clinical microbiology and the fastest growing of all bioMérieux subsidiaries. Conor has a BSc in Biological Sciences and an MBA from the University of Durham Business School.

Dr John Clarkson, Chief Executive Officer of Atlas, commented: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Conor to Atlas. With over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the diagnostics industry, Conor will add valuable insight, connections and expertise during this important phase as Altas transitions to a fully commercialised business.”
