Adept Scientific Celebrates 25 Years and Looks to Future

Feb 16 2010

Technical software company Adept Scientific (Letchworth, Herts) celebrated its 25th anniversary in November, with ‘pride in the past’ and confidence in its success in the future ‘even in these tough economic times’ according to the sentiments of co-founder and Managing Director Paul Bragg.

“We’ve been through several recessions before and we’re fortunate to be largely immune to the worst effects. That’s because the software and hardware systems we’re selling for technical data analysis and management are not options, but essential, even mission-critical components of our customers’ enterprises. We supply the tools to help them increase productivity, improve the quality of their products and processes, and reduce their overall costs. Whatever the economic pressures, no organisation can afford to scrimp on those,” Paul commented.

Founded in 1984, Adept has grown from a couple of people working from home to a leading company in its field, employing more than 50 highly skilled professionals with fullystaffed offices in four countries and customers
all over the world. And in academic, business and technical areas of operation the staff are known, not only for their efficiency and expertise, but as a team of people who enjoy what they’re doing and have fun doing it.

“I don’t like to boast,” continued Paul, “but hardly a week goes by without someone writing to or emailing me to thank us for our service, or praise a member of our staff for going that little bit further, doing that bit extra that makes all the difference. That’s how we keep our customers and I’m very, very proud of that. We may be high-tech, but we’re a people organisation. We love our work and we love to enjoy ourselves too.” Adept’s social and
charitable events, usually involving outlandish costumes, are legendary in the Letchworth area!

With a global turnover of over £6 million, Adept Scientific serves leading technology-based manufacturing corporations, universities in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Denmark, small and medium-sized businesses, government departments, local authorities, hospitals, charities and NGOs.

“We’ve been around for 25 years and our customers know we’ll still be there when they need us. We’ve always invested in highly effective support systems and in personnel with a very high level of technical and professional expertise. So our customers see us as a longterm partner, always there for support, advice and ongoing development of their systems

” So is the outlook still rosy for this thriving company?

“I hope I’ll still be around in another 25 years’ time,” says 55-year-old Paul. “But I’m sure that Adept will. There will always be a need for the type of products we supply and I’m equally sure that our brand of personal service and expertise will always be in demand. We’re still growing and still ambitious. I’m sure we’ve as many interesting and exciting times to come in the future as we’ve had in the past.”
