New Joint Venture between Monitoring & Control Laboratories (MCL) and the Verder Scientific Group in South Africa Announced

Verder Scientific and the company Monitoring & Control Laboratories have formed a joint venture in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, with offices opening in Linbro Business Park, South Africa on the 1st July 2017.

Monitoring & Control Laboratories (MCL), which has represented the Retsch brand for 22 years in Southern Africa, will be working very closely with Verder Scientific to ensure the brands in the Verder Scientific stable continue to provide exceptional solutions to the market as well as a strong service and support system.

In order to ensure a smooth transition, Verder Scientific Pty. Ltd. will be operating from the same premises as MCL and retaining key MCL/Retsch sales and service personnel so as to continue providing the same level of excellence that customers have become accustomed to over the last two decades with MCL.

Brands represented by Verder Scientific South Africa include: Retsch – Solutions in Milling & Sieving; Retsch Technology – Solutions in Particle Sizing; Carbolite Gero – Heat Treatment 30°C – 3,000°C; Eltra – Elemental Analysers.

The ATM brand, also owned by the Verder Scientific Group, is not part of the portfolio of the new company and will continue to be represented by the current distributor, Advanced Laboratory Solutions (ALS), with whom Verder Scientific South Africa will conduct joint marketing activities from time to time.

Richard Hattersley, owner of MCL and co-owner of the South African Verder Scientific operation said: “We are really excited about the consolidation of the Verder product brands in Southern Africa. Both MCL and the new Verder Scientific operation have every intention of growing the brands to become a formidable player in the Southern African market.”

All other product lines currently sold and serviced under the MCL banner remain unaffected.
