Azenta Life Sciences is bringing automation to cryogenic sample management with the CryoArc™ Pico, a space-saving system designed for biobanking, clinical research, and cell and gene therapy laboratories.
Engineered to fit easily into existing lab environments, the system combines liquid nitrogen storage at -190°C with a compact footprint, removing the need for facility modifications while enabling access to ultra-low temperature automation.
The CryoArc Pico supports flexible workflows across multiple labware formats, helping laboratories transition to automation without disrupting established processes. Its integrated software manages sample inventories, tracks location and temperature exposure, and supports barcode-driven workflows alongside user access control and full chain-of-custody traceability. This ensures compliance with CFR 21 Part 11 requirements while maintaining strong data integrity.
By automating both storage and retrieval, the system reduces reliance on manual handling, lowering the risk of human error and minimising exposure to ambient conditions. Its enclosed design also limits direct interaction with cryogenic components and liquid nitrogen, improving safety for both users and samples while maintaining consistent ultra-low temperatures.
As part of a broader cryogenic storage portfolio, the CryoArc Pico offers a scalable route to increased automation, allowing laboratories to expand capabilities as requirements evolve. Combining compact design with robust sample tracking and reliable performance, it provides a practical solution for modernising cryogenic storage in space-constrained environments.
