Serial dispensing routine reimagined

12 Mar, 2026

Serial dispensing requires one thing above all else: reliability. Socorex's Stepper™ 416 is the best example of how this routine task can be simplified through thoughtful design.

The mechanical repeat system covers volumes from 10 to 5000 μl and, with three Ecostep™ positive displacement syringes, allows for a wide range of settings. The four-finger activation relieves strain on the thumb during longer dispensing series, while colour coding and clearly legible graduations ensure easy handling. An integrated locking mechanism prevents further dosing when the residual volume is too low.

In everyday use, its strengths are particularly evident in serial applications such as screening procedures, aliquoting or dosing reagents into vials.

The Ecostep™ syringes with positive displacement principle prevent direct contact between the liquid and the device, thus limiting contamination with chemicals such as acids, bases and solvents. This makes them ideal for dispensing foaming liquids as well as viscous and high-density reagents.

The repeater pipette is also characterised by its intentional omission of electronics. Without batteries or complex components, the Stepper™ 416 focuses on durability and mechanical reliability – an approach that is becoming increasingly important in times of growing sustainability requirements.
