Axair’s ATEX fans range extended to Zone 21
Mar 13 2024
After several decades supplying the UK hazardous market with ATEX fans suitable for gas zones 1 & 2, and dust zone 22, Casals Ventilation has now formally communicated their intention to produce ATEX fans certified in combustible dust zone 21. A zone 21 environment refers to an incidental presence of explosive atmosphere during normal duty, happening occasionally, as shown in the featured image.
ATEX fans for dust are constructed under the same regulated and rigid procedures required of all ATEX fans including permissible pairings, clearances, and motor protection, all to prevent ignition. One focus of ATEX dust fans is on reducing the build up of uneven dust build up on the rotating parts, for example backward curved or radial impellers that lend themselves more to self-cleaning properties.
Therefore, Axair will now provide ATEX fans for use in all gas and dust environments, with the exception of zone 0 or zone 20 environments. We welcome enquiries from new and existing customers to discuss the timescales and introduction of zone21 metal and stainless-steel fans.
