High-resolution Continuum Source Aas ? Redefining Aas
Mar 28 2006
The contrAA atomic absorption spectrometer is the first commercially available instrument for the HR-CS AAS with impressively unique features:
? Immediately ready to measure, no lamp drift because of simultaneous double beam stability
? Simple operation and simple and rapid method development (free of interferences)
? Low running cost
? High sample throughput
? Ready to measure for each element on each line (rare elements, PO-, CS-bands)
? Real sequential multi element analysis, partly simultaneous determination of trace minor and major elements (Ni/Fe, CU/Ni, Pb/Fe)
? Improved detection limits
? Improved simultaneous background correction (spectral interferences, molecular flame structures) with CCD-Detector
The contrAA is characterized by robustness, capability of determining a wide range of elements in complex waste and waste waters with low operational costs and performance similar to competitive techniques such as the inductively coupled plasma (ICP). Thus this approach closes the gap between AAS and ICP and is a viable alternative procedure.
