bioMérieux’s growing range of bioNexia® rapid screening tests, which includes bioNexia BTA, FOBplus, Troponin I, CRPplus and Influenza A+B kits, has recently been extended to include the new hCG Urine and hCG Combo (for urine and serum) kits for the qualitative determination of human chorionic gonadotrophin, an ideal marker for the early detection of pregnancy.

Rapidity of diagnosis and patient reassurance are all important, and the bioNexia hCG rapid tests provide fast, cost-effective clinical diagnostic solutions combined with high user convenience. The test procedure is extremely simple, requiring only three drops of urine or serum, and the result can be read just three to five minutes later, depending on the test and sample type. In common with the widely accepted standard, bioNexia hCG rapid test devices show a positive test result – indicated by the presence of two distinctive red bands – when patient samples contain ≥ 25 IU/l of hCG.

The all-in-one bioNexia hCG Urine and hCG Combo rapid test kits are supplied in convenient pack sizes containing 30 tests, and include a full package insert and an easy-to-read diagram to ensure correct use. Each device is supplied individually wrapped in a foil pouch – which also contains the dropper – and can be stored at 2-30°C for up to two years from the date of manufacture.
