The Biopharma Group is offering a free pdf booklet entitled ‘Misconceptions in Freeze Drying’. Freeze drying is used for a wide variety of products, from food and ingredients to high-value pharmaceutical and biotechnology therapies and reagents. Freeze drying is a complex process to manage effectively and despite improvements in analytical and process science a number of misconceptions persist. This can prevent researchers from obtaining the best results.

The Biopharma Group has been dedicated to the science and practice of freeze drying since 1989. As well as supplying equipment and contract research services, they have run hundreds of courses and trained thousands of people in freeze drying technology. 2014 marks their 25th anniversary and to mark the occasion they have put together a booklet of some of the misunderstandings that are encountered most often. This includes theory of product and process development as well as practical guidance on equipment specification and operation. The guide aims to provide simple tricks to help scientists achieve better results, and is suitable both for those new to freeze drying and those with some experience in the field.
