New Jar Gassing System Launched
Jul 19 2011
Don Whitley Scientific’s Jar Gassing System is now available with a colour touch screen interface and optional printer for traceability, auditing and accreditation purposes. Creating incubation conditions at a fraction of the cost and time required by gas generating envelopes, the system rapidly generates precise anaerobic or microaerobic gas mixtures to optimise culture conditions.
The Whitley Jar Gassing System takes less than two minutes and about 18 pence to create an anaerobic environment, and just 15 seconds and less than three pence to achieve microaerobic conditions. The speed and cost efficiency of the new system is underlined by comparison with gas generation kits that require between 30 minutes and 3 hours to create similar conditions for a cost of about £1.60 per jar. Using the Whitley Jar Gassing System eliminates chemical waste and reduces condensation so that samples can be handled and read more easily following incubation. In addition, suitable incubation conditions are created swiftly to ensure the best possible recovery rates. A range of optional accessories including adaptor kits for reusing existing anaerobic jars is available. Laboratories with low sample throughput can justify this system as a compact and costeffective workstation alternative.
