A new ultra-miniature, high density interface (HDI) solenoid valve for OEM, laboratory, scientific and medical device applications is the latest example of excellence in miniature engineering from Lee Products.  This new ‘plug-in’ style valve features a 2-port normally closed design and offers similar performance characteristics to Lee’s traditional 3-port HDI design, but in a smaller, lighter package.

The constant demands placed upon designers and machine builders to produce reliable and innovative products which are smaller and lighter are being met, thanks in part, to the Lee Companies’ ability to continue to redefine miniature fluidics.  For example, this new HDI solenoid valve weighs less than 2.5 grams, has an overall length of 27.2mm and a diameter of 7.1mm.

The valve is available in options which provide a flow capacity (on air) from 4.4 SLPM @ 10 psid, with a Cv = 0.013, up to 14.6 SLPM with a Cv = 0.044) @ 10 psid. They have a low internal volume of 28 µL, an operating pressure range of 10 psi differential with inlet pressures from vacuum to 45 psig and an operating temperature range from 40ºF up to 120ºF.
