However the most reliable in terms of long-term identification and tracking of samples is via a 2D coding on the bottom of the tubes. Barcodes on Micronic 2D Data Matrix and 2D TraXis coded tubes are permanently laser-etched into the tube surface making them especially resistant to solvent attack and wear.
