Micronic is excited to introduce the EFC Refill Rack, a ground-breaking addition to its Eco-Friendly Choice line, designed to advance sustainability in laboratory sample processing. This innovative product features a reusable base rack and cover, paired with a refill system made of 99% in-house renewed materials. The EFC Refill Rack highlights Micronic’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while maintaining high standards of functionality and quality. The product is the latest in Micronic’s sustainable offerings, joining the EFC Racks RM, which were launched earlier this year at the SLAS2024 event, and are also manufactured from 99% renewed materials.

The EFC Refill Rack are manufactured from durable polypropylene (PP), making it ideal for repeated use and facilitating straightforward recycling. The renewed materials are sourced directly from Micronic’s production facility in the Netherlands, where they undergo stringent quality checks to ensure the final product’s reliability and performance. This sustainable design not only supports laboratories’ efforts to reduce plastic waste but also meets the rising demand for eco-friendly labware without compromising on quality. Each component in the refill system is carefully inspected to maintain product integrity, making the EFC Refill Rack a responsible and reliable choice for laboratories looking to minimise their environmental footprint.

 One of the standout benefits of the EFC Refill Rack is its potential to significantly reduce eco-costs and carbon emissions. After 10 uses, the eco-costs – which represent the environmental impact of a product throughout its life cycle – are reduced by 61%. The rack’s carbon footprint is similarly lowered by 69%, making it an ideal choice for laboratories dedicated to sustainable practices. The EFC Refill Rack is engineered for versatility and durability, withstanding temperatures from -80°C to +100°C and supporting a 96-well format for 1.40ml tubes. It is compatible with both internally and externally threaded tubes, available with screw or push caps, allowing it to meet a wide array of laboratory requirements.
