Oct 05 2011

The new range of Thermo Scientific Forma 88000 Series -86°C freezers provide outstanding sample protection, sample storage capacity, and energy efficiency for your ultra-low temperature (ULT) storage requirements.

Forma® 88000 Series freezers are equipped with a unique touch-screen control panel that features an event log, health monitoring system and controlled access options, providing you with constant updates on sample integrity and the health of the freezer compartment. Additional ease-of-use is provided with a built-in USB port, enabling you to download event logs and transfer freezer settings to other Thermo Scientific freezers with this technology.

The five new capacities range in size from 421 - 949 liters (14.9 - 33.5 cu. ft.) and provide a number of options to suit most storage and lab space requirements. The new cabinet design and vacuum panel insulation of the Forma 88000 Series allows for storage of up to 70,000 2 mL tubes or 118,300 1 mL Thermo Scientific Cryobank tubes.

You can choose between high-performance or energy saving modes, which are easily selected via the intuitive touch-screen interface. Providing outstanding sample protection while using significantly less energy than previous models, the Forma 88000 Series can help laboratories obtain an energy-efficient approach to maintaining sample viability during long- and short-term cold storage.

Delivering efficient operation with minimal noise, the Forma 88000 Series features outstanding temperature uniformity throughout the internal chamber. As a result, you can maximize the use of all available space with the knowledge that all samples will be held at the optimal temperature.
