The line includes microtomes, ultramicrotomes, cryosectioning systems, automatic EM tissue processors, glass knife makers, propane jet freezers, freeze fracture systems, freeze substitution systems, freeze dryer systems and a wide range of associated accessories.
The AFM-990 precision motorized microtome is recommended for the materials scientist. It has been designed for users of all microscopy techniques: optical, scanning electron and scanning probe systems.
It enables users to prepare flat sample surfaces with minimal user interaction. A feed totalizer to record either the size of feed in microns or the number of slices to be cut is set up using a separate controller for hands-off operation. The motorized knife stage provides 28mm of travel and has the option to add a cryo-attachment to permit sectioning from room temperature down to -180°C.
