Image Analysis System gets an Upgrade
May 24 2010
SeedCount is an image analysis system designed for measuring physical characteristics of grains and seeds. Originally developed by Weiss International, Connecticut, USA, and SeedCount Australasia, Ballarat, Victoria, SeedCount has been licensed to Stadvis Pty Ltd, Sydney, NSW. Stadvis has worked for the last 6 months to make the system more commercially attractive.
The first upgrade has been to incorporate a touch pad PC screen rather than the end user supplying their own PC. This dedicated PC removes the problems associated with software compatibility and systems configuration. The SeedCount system now comes ready to use out of the box.
The second upgrade relates to the user interface. The new software provides a customised data display. Considering that the SeedCount measures some 50 characteristics of grains and seeds, the new interface allows the operator to only display the specific measurements required. Grain buyers and grain processors have requested this capability, where as plant breeders and grain research organisations may prefer the original display and interface.
