Dr Weigert’s Research and Development, Analytics and Microbiology Departments have moved into a new, 1,000 square metre, purpose built facility at the company’s head office in Hamburg.

The laboratories, which have taken twelve months to construct, have been designed with a focus on development of high-performance cleaners, disinfectants and decontamination products; provision of key services to customers of the R & D, Analytics and Microbiology Departments and service and maintenance of products.

Employees use the most up-to-date analysis methods such as IR and UV/VIS spectroscopy, HPLC, mass spectrometry and gas chromatography.

General Manager Alan Abbatt, said: “ At Dr Weigert we are always looking to develop new products with the continued aim of making cleaning processes safer, more reliable as well as more ecologically and economically sustainable. The new facility allows us to replicate our customer’s daily working practices. This together with our constant presence at scientific symposiums is an essential source for new ideas which can now come to fruition via the work completed at the new laboratories.”
