VICI AG International, the European branch of the VICI group of companies, recently broke ground on a new 2,900 m2 building. A number of VICI representatives, along with the architect and the mayor, participated in the symbolic breaking of ground with deep blue shovels in hand. VICI representatives included Stan Stearns (VICI founder, Chairman and Director of Research), Franco Cozzio (General Manager), Walter Gautshi (Board Member) and Norbert Gemperli (Staff Representative). Local representatives included Thomas Vetter (Representative for the architecture firm, Architect Formis) and Patrick Ineichen (Mayor of Schenkon).

VICI AG’s current building accommodates 130 employees, and when the new building is complete, production capacity will increase to accommodate our customers growing needs. The new building will include more space for additional machine shops, offices, an employee lunch space and ample underground parking.

The building will be built with Minergie standards, the Swiss building standard for new and modernised buildings. Geothermal energy will be utilised for heating during the cold season, and in summer the process will be reversed to economically cool the building. Additionally, the heat generated by the air compressors will be recovered and used for generating hot water and heating in the winter. During the summer months the heat will be released into the ground. All ventilation of the building will pass through a heat exchanger (which is the standard in Switzerland) and will save additional energy. These features reduce the carbon footprint substantially as well as the cost of operation.

VICI Valco Instruments was first founded in 1968 in Houston, Texas and expanded into Europe in 1981 with the founding of VICI AG International in Switzerland.
