Streamlined lab efficiency with LMS integration for UV/Vis devices

20 Feb, 2025

Analytik Jena has introduced a significant upgrade to its UV/Vis technology offerings. Laboratories that require high automation and process a large volume of samples can now streamline their operations with the integration of SPECORD PLUS devices into Laboratory Management Systems (LMS).

The latest version of ASpect UV software enables seamless control of SPECORD PLUS devices through an external LMS, thanks to the new SOAP interface module. This integration allows laboratories to create methods, perform measurements, and automatically report results back to the system, all within the LMS. As a result, users can work directly within their existing systems without the need to switch between multiple software applications. Remote operation of measurements is possible, and the software tracks processes to eliminate manual data entry errors across systems.

In addition to the LMS integration, the ASpect UV software update introduces enhanced functionality for kinetic measurements and advanced, formula-based data analysis. For regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, and beverage, the new 21 CFR Part 11 compliance module is a valuable feature, offering integration with user management systems via Active Directory and eliminating the need for separate credentials.

The SPECORD PLUS, a reliable dual-beam spectrophotometer, continues to be a staple in UV/Vis technology. Combined with ASpect UV software and its range of specialised tools, it is suited for a variety of applications across chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medicine, food safety, environmental analysis, and life sciences. The software's modular, Windows-based design ensures flexible, precise operation that adapts to all levels of experience and requirements, including compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 and Pharmacopoeia Europaea 11 when needed.
