Balances
KERN & SOHN is launching new analytical and precision balances in the KERN ADS/ADT ranges (analytical balances) and KERN PDS/PDT ranges (precision balances). Designed for laboratories, industry, and research, they offer high measurement accuracy. They have a semi-touch display as well as a range of weighing functions. In addition, integrated interfaces allow digital connection to laboratory and quality management systems.
The new balances are equipped with a semi-touch display, which offers a combination of a touchscreen as well as the standard control buttons. The main functions, such as switching the weighing unit or carrying out the adjustment can be activated directly from the display.
There are two ways to carry out the adjustment. The models in the ADT range (analytical balances) and PDT range (precision balances) have automatic adjustment with an internal weight, while the models in the ADS and PDS ranges use an external weight. In this way the balances are flexible and can be adapted to different applications and environmental conditions.
The new models provide rapid, stable measuring results through modern sensor technology. They offer different functions for a varied range of applications. The statistics function calculates key figures such as the average value and standard deviation. With tolerance weighing you can check whether the weight is within predefined limits. Piece-counting enables automatic determination of quantities using a reference weight. In addition to this, percentage weighing displays the weight of a sample as a percentage of a reference value.
There are several transfer options available for data processing. With the Windows-Direct function, weights can be transferred straight to a Windows application using a USB device connection. As an alternative, the measurements can be forwarded to connected systems using RS 232 and USB (device).
Using the KERN Communication Protocol, balances can be connected to a computer or a CRM/ERP system. This enables you to recall measurements as well as control the balance remotely within automated processes.
All models allow for GLP/ISO compliant data logging. The date, time and a unique identification number will be recorded for every adjustment or each weighing process. This guarantees complete traceability and supports use in regulated laboratory and production environments in accordance with the requirements of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
“With our new balance ranges we are making weighing processes easier in the laboratory, industrial sectors and research,” says Aleksandar Delic, Category Manager – Laboratory at KERN & SOHN. “They provide precise measuring results, log these results in full and can be integrated seamlessly into existing systems. In this way we are supporting our customers to work efficiently and in a compliant manner.”
