High resolution, clear process control

15 Apr, 2026

The KERN DIS moisture analyser combines high measurement accuracy with clearly structured, easy-to-use analysis. The product from KERN & SOHN GmbH is designed for laboratory and quality assurance applications that demand precise results and reproducible processes.

Focus on precision and operation

A key feature is the high measurement accuracy. Depending on the model, the readout delivered is 0.1 mg or 1 mg. This means that even low moisture contents can be determined reliably. The high resolution improves comparability and enables small differences to be analysed.

The operation follows a clear sequence: Users first tare the device, then place the sample on it and start measurement. This structure makes recurring analyses simple and ensures reproducible results. A backlit display shows all relevant information clearly.

During measurement, the device shows the drying process in real time. The drying curve appears directly on the display. This enables users to track the process and identify deviations in the measuring process at an early stage. Once the measurement is complete, the results can be displayed as moisture content, dry content, absolutely dry (ATRO) value or residual weight in grammes, depending on requirements.

Documentation and flexible customisation

Measurement reports record the results together with user information. Password protection prevents unauthorised changes to the date and time settings, thereby ensuring the integrity of the analysis conditions. Up to 1,000 measurement results can be stored in the internal memory and used for later analyses. Users can also store up to 40 drying programmes to carry out recurring analyses with defined parameters.

The temperature range extends from 30 °C to 175 °C and users can set it in 1 °C increments. Various heating profiles enable adjustments for diverse materials and thus support material-specific drying. The switch-off is time-controlled, automatic or manual.

Typical areas of application include inspection of incoming goods, in-process control and end product analysis. The system is also suitable for routine analyses in laboratories, comparative measurements and the determination of low moisture contents in sensitive samples. The device covers cross-sector applications in food analysis, cosmetics, plastics and polymer testing and building materials analysis, among others.
