Core-Shell HPLC Columns

With the BlueShell® core-shell HPLC columns, Knauer aims at two different groups of users. The first group are laboratories working with UHPLC or fast HPLC systems for a maximum in resolution and separation speed. Using these optimised systems, BlueShell® columns with 2.6µm particles can reportedly even outperform some fully porous particle UHPLC columns and achieve up to 200,000 plates per meter. The second group of users owns standard HPLC equipment and is striving for performance improvements with the given systems. Knauer recommends the BlueShell® classic columns with 4.5 diameter particles for these traditional HPLC systems and says that backpressure is not an issue. BlueShell® core-shell columns are very robust and pH stable due to advanced bonding technology. Available as C18, C18A, PFP, Phenyl-Hexyl, HILIC phase (2.6 µm) and C18 or C8 phase (4.5µm), these columns enable a wide range of applications.
