Thermoelectric cooling utilises Peltier effect to generate a heat flux between the junctions of two different types of materials. A Peltier thermoelectric heat pump from A. Krüss Optronic is a solid-state active heat pump that transfers heat using electrical energy from one side of the device to the other side against the temperature gradient.

This type of instrument is also commonly referred to as a Peltier heat pump, solid state refrigerator or thermoelectric cooler. Peltier devices are commonly used for cooling purposes, since heating can be more easily and economically achieved by other techniques.

On the other hand, when a single device is to be used for both heating and cooling, a Peltier device may be desirable. Peltier devices can also generate electricity if a temperature difference is sustained between the two sides.

PT 31 Adjustable Electronic Peltier Thermostat is a versatile, high-performance instrument. In one application, for example, PT 31 Adjustable Electronic Peltier Thermostat can be used to set the correct refractometer temperature. PT 31 Adjustable Electronic Peltier Thermostat is extremely robust, compact and easy to operate.

Thanks to its small footprint, PT 31 Adjustable Electronic Peltier Thermostat does not take up valuable space in the laboratory.
