As laboratories look for faster, more space-efficient ways to handle solvent evaporation, Analytix is highlighting a versatile range of LabTech concentrator systems designed to combine speed, flexibility and ease of use. Available in configurations for 6, 12, 64 and 96 samples, the range supports a broad variety of tube and vial formats, offering an increasingly attractive alternative to traditional rotary evaporators.
By reducing the partial vapour pressure above the liquid surface, these systems accelerate solvent evaporation efficiently and consistently. Depending on the model, samples can be heated using either a water bath or dry block, while a controlled nitrogen purge helps drive rapid concentration. Evaporated solvent is then removed safely via an integral exhaust connected to laboratory extraction or by operation within a fume hood.
The MultiVap 6 offers a straightforward, cost-effective entry point for laboratories seeking reliable parallel evaporation. Featuring six independent channels, it allows users to adjust nitrogen flow individually, while the movable flow needles can be positioned for more precise and efficient evaporation.
Its aluminium alloy heating block is designed to deliver uniform temperature control across all samples, with operation from ambient temperature up to 120°C. The system can process sample volumes of up to 40ml in parallel and also offers an option for 2ml vials, making it well suited to smaller-scale workflows.
Designed for higher levels of automation, the new MultiVap 12 enables simultaneous evaporation of up to 12 samples using 50ml and 200ml cups. Infrared sensors provide automatic liquid end-point detection, allowing users either to evaporate to dryness or to concentrate samples to a defined final volume.
A liquid bath ensures precise, even heating from ambient temperature to 70°C, while a vortex nitrogen purge with adjustable needle position and direction gives users greater control over evaporation performance. The system also features touchscreen operation and an alarm to signal the end of each evaporation sequence.
For laboratories handling larger sample numbers, the MultiVap 64 delivers high-capacity, multi-channel concentration in a flexible format. Optional racks accommodate a wide selection of vessels, from 2ml GC vials and 10ml, 15ml and 40ml vials through to 50ml formats, while automatic needle adjustment responds to falling sample volume during evaporation.
The liquid bath provides consistent heating from ambient temperature to 100°C, and touchscreen controls include a low-level alarm for added reassurance during operation. With integrated vapour extraction, the MultiVap 64 can also be used outside a fume hood, helping laboratories make more efficient use of available space.
Built for high-throughput workflows, the MultiVap 96 is tailored for use with 96-position well plates, making it a strong fit for busy laboratories requiring efficient sample concentration. Its direct nitrogen heating technology enables rapid heating to the evaporation point and supports operation from ambient temperature up to 80°C.
