Automated Analysis of Nitrosamines in Water System
Nov 13 2012
Ellutia is working with local water and environmental companies to develop a screening tool based on the 800 series Thermal Energy Analyser (TEA) and automated sample prep systems for the analysis of nitrosamines in water.
This proposed customised system uses a modified dual rail CTC Combi-Pal. The first rail carries out sample preparation including Solid Phase Extraction (SPE), pre-concentration and drying of the sample using a custom large volume solvent handling system, SPE Cartridges and an automated evaporation system. The Second Rail takes the prepared samples and injects them onto a TEA-GC system for screening. Intelligent custom software then passes any samples flagged as positive for compounds of interest above a set level or presence of unidentified peaks onto a GC-MS for further analysis.
The System is being developed at The Ellutia research facility in Cambridgeshire for release in 2013. Ellutia will be looking for test partners once a prototype is available, and invites any potential users to contact us to give their input and discuss their requirements at this early stage of the product development.
