Ohaus Adds Two Models to the Navigator® Family of Scales

Sep 18 2011

Ohaus Corporation, have announced the launch of the Navigator® family. The Navigator and Navigator XL models, which join the Navigator XT, offer a unique combination of best-in-class features including sensors for ‘touchless’ operation, ultra-fast response time and superior overload protection. The Navigator and Navigator XL are ideal for a variety of industrial, laboratory and food industry applications.

The Navigator and Navigator XL models are designed with two user programmable touchless sensors that free up operators’ hands, and prevent a loss of focus when delicate or critical samples are being weighed. The touch-free control of tare, zero, print, function and display backlight helps to minimise touching the keypad, avoiding cross-contamination or leaving unwanted residue on the scales. In addition, the ingeniously practical sensors prolong the life of the scales by minimising the need to press the keypad with a hand, tool or object that may damage the scales.

The superior mechanical overload protection system enables the scales to safely withstand loads up to four times their rated capacity. This prevents damage to the scales, helping them resist shock and overloading while maintaining weighing accuracy. The high-strength 304 type stainless steel pan and impact-resistant ABS plastic housing add to their durability and reliability.

The Navigator models accurately stabilise in less than one second, improving operator efficiency and productivity. Consistent, repeatable results are also assured due to the innovative design of the scale.

An internal, rechargeable lead acid battery featured on the Navigator XL contributes to its unmatched productivity, enabling up to 100 hours of normal use on a full charge. The scale can be transported and used where power outlets are not readily available. The rechargeable battery also helps minimise battery replacement and maintenance costs. A bright backlit LCD display provides optimum visibility in any lighting condition with large digits and indicators that make it fast and easy to read the weighing results.

The Navigator and Navigator XL are designed for versatility. Multiple application modes such as counting, percent weighing, checkweighing, display hold and accumulation/totalisation address a wide range of use in industrial, laboratory and food applications.

Additional features include skid-resistant levelling feet to provide superior stability, a menu lock switch to prevent unwanted changes to protected scale settings and available RS232, USB or Ethernet interface kits.
