Triple quad MS for high-throughput labs

12 Jun, 2026

SCIEX has introduced a new triple quadrupole mass spectrometry system designed for high-throughput analytical laboratories requiring greater sensitivity, efficiency and operational flexibility.

The novus V55 system combines enhanced quantitative performance with a smaller footprint and improved energy efficiency compared with the SCIEX 5500+ platform. It is designed for a wide range of applications including food and environmental testing, pharmaceutical impurities, bioanalysis and PFAS detection.

A key feature of the system is accelerated MRM acquisition, enabling up to 1,000 transitions per second to support higher sample throughput without compromising quantitative accuracy. The platform is supported by SCIEX OS 5.0 software, which introduces centralised performance tracking, fleet monitoring and automated reporting tools, alongside AI-enabled functions for natural language queries and data handling.

The system also incorporates improved instrument design aimed at reducing laboratory energy consumption and cooling requirements, while maintaining compatibility with existing LC systems and regulatory compliance standards.

“Analytical labs need more insight with less time, space and energy. The novus V55 applies decades of innovation to deliver robustness, sensitivity and improved performance for customers,” said Chris Lock, Vice President, Global R&D, SCIEX.

The novus V55 builds on the company’s long history in triple quadrupole technology, following earlier platforms such as the SCIEX 5500 series and QTRAP systems.
