FEI has opened its Image Contest for 2014 with categories including ‘The Natural World’, ‘The Human Body’, and ‘Around the House’. All FEI instrument owners are invited to submit their best images through to the end of the year; some of them will be used in the free National Geographic iPad® app, “Mysteries of the Unseen World.”

FEI is also pleased to announce the winner of its 2013 Image Contest: Marcos Rosado of the Electron Microscopy Division of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2), Spain, for his “Acacia Dealbata Flower” image.

“The 2013 FEI Image Contest has brought in some amazing examples of microscopy skill, research and creativity,” said John Williams, FEI’s vice president of strategic marketing. “Many of the images have been featured on numerous media outlets, including NBC News and The Huffington Post. We would like to congratulate Marcos Rosado on winning this year’s contest for his stunning flower image.”
