The titration for acidity is an extremely common and required analysis on all beverages, as is the measurement of the pH of the product. Classically this is done by pH meter and manual titration with glass burette and NaOH

titrant. This type of approach however can create its own set of problems, for example: overshooting endpoint; variation of results between different operators; and transcription errors.

To resolve these issues, Metrohm can offer the 905 Titrando automatic titration system. The 905 Titrando is a state of the art system which can either be controlled via the easy to use tiamo™ software or by a color touch control screen. Simply place the sample on a stirrer stand, lower the pH probes in and press start. A pH reading takes place, and the titration for acidity is completely automated. Further features can be implemented, for example: automatic degassing; autosampler; and other analyses, such as Vitamin C, SO2. The system is so easy to use – every operator loves it.
