Micropix Ltd is pleased to announce the launch of our new OptoLED illumination system for fluorescence microscopy. LEDs offer many advantages over traditional forms of fluorescence illumination like mercury, xenon and metal halide. These advantages include: nearly unlimited lifespan – certainly over 10,000 hours of use – significantly reducing on-going costs of replacement bulbs; no warm up or cool down periods – simply switch them on and off; wavelength specific LEDs with individually controlled intensity; can be fitted to existing microscope systems; available in single, dual, triple or quadruple wavelength systems depending on how many fluorochromes you use; and prices start at just £995 for a single LED system.
