As well as a full scientific programme embracing light and electron microscopy and spectroscopy across both the life and physical sciences, along with scanning probe and flow cytometry techniques, emc2012 offers a number of pre-congress workshops and satellite meetings.
Pre-Congress Workshops and a hands-on course will take place on Sunday 16th September, between 2 pm and 5 pm at Manchester Central. There will be a token registration fee to contribute towards refreshments, and all participants will need to register to attend the Pre-Congress Workshops in advance. These include:

Aberration Corrected TEM and Exit Wave Reconstruction

Image Simulation
Using Photoshop to prepare scientific figures
Spectroscopic data analysis
Essentials of Light Microscopy: How to set up your microscope correctly
